Principal’s Report: “ACMS Connection” - finding every student's trusted adult. In the Fall, we usually get 80% of students who can name a trusted adult. There are 82% this year. Kids are still learning how to be at school. How to build community, putting systems in place, making kids feel less anxiety. By Spring, 90-95% usually have a named trusted adult. 3% say they don't have a trusted adult in their community or at home. We are focused on those. Breaking Down the Wall exercise - Teacher training and a full day of community building - trust building. Trainers must train staff, facilitators, and then schedule a day for it. High schoolers as facilitators. Dances - The first dance will happen in January. Olympics will happen in January. Literacy - Studies show that if kids are reading at grade level, they will be able to access the basic information of life. 90% of students have shown growth over the last year. Cougar Pride Cards - Kids are loving them, seeing a ton of positive behavior, acknowledging great behavior. Clubs - Are starting back up, even informally. Tutoring - Looking for volunteers to do this online as well An ACMS building is going up starting in June. Boys and Girls club building by the staff parking. Tell parents not to have kids cross Alder Creek Drive. Meet kids on same side of the street. Send out an email saying it's okay to park across the street at the church. Treasurer’s Report $7427 in bank, looking online for free (for nonprofits) software to start a budget, not many expenses or much income Received $800 in donations for conference week meals, will apply surplus to staff appreciation week meals. Grocery Outlet - when shopping there, say “please donate a portion of my bill to ACMS”. They are big supporters of our community. Spirit Wear Sweatshirts are being delivered tomorrow, we will have a coffee cart on Friday to sell spirit wear and give coffee from Zuri’s.Brainstorming how to do coffee cart and spirit wear sales on Friday. Will be set up by the gym entrance. Volunteers - Yvonne, Saira, Laurie, Natalie. Sandwich board will be placed by 7th grade dropoff directing parents to the front of the school. We will also sell at the dance in January. Also selling stickers (donated by West Orthodontics) and Cougar string bags. Will put new items and/or pictures of items in the display case in the main hallway and by 7th grade. Will look in to ordering Pura Vida bracelets in our school colors, hopefully they will arrive in time to sell at the January dance? Staff Lounge Snacks: Susie will bring in snacks tomorrow. Currently spending less than $100 a month on them. Restaurant Fundraiser: Looking for ideas for local restaurants and businesses to hold fundraisers. Tamale Fundraiser: We will try to do this before break in December. We will also do this before the Super Bowl - “Touchdown Tamales” Disney Tickets: The tickets we had have expired. We are on an email list for when they open the program back up. Krista Tranquila Studios: Open house first weekend of December. Sierra Essentials, Brad Henry Pottery, artisan event in each of their home studios. Will put a link to the map in the next newsletter. Open House: In the Spring: Keremes dinner will take place, silent auction (online), April 28th Possible idea for around the holiday - Giving Tree? Will contact community/town. Meeting Adjourned 7:15.
