ACMS PTO Meeting Minutes 
February 10th, 2022
Raley’s ONE

In attendance: Susie Overall, Yvonne Moore, Denise Vanbeek, Saira West, Wendy McKechnie, Jenny Suh, Hien Larson

Call to order, approve last month’s minutes

Principal’s Report - Hien Larson:
Kindness Week starting 2/14. Every day will have a theme, promote a week of kindness.
 
8th grade Parent Night on Thursday, February 17th. There will be a slide presentation available to view after the event, no Zoom option. 
 
Photos needed for yearbook. Send to [email protected].
 
Open House scheduled for May 12th so it can be outside. Will include a Kermes dinner, silent auction item display by PTO.
 
Field Trips 7th and 8th Grade will be doing Ropes Course. Will need PTO help with transportation expenses. 2 home rooms per day, one bus per day over 4 days. District buses. 6th Grade trip is still unknown. 
 
8th Grade End of the Year Promotion Committee, PTO helps plan a surprise party and dance. It would be fun to do it in the courtyard again.
 
Dance This is a maybe, we’re hoping for Spring. Perhaps outside in March? Would be a fundraiser with pizza, etc. Need to get volunteers, two volunteers per homeroom. Jenny suggested fire department volunteers to chaperone. 
 
Online Silent Auction Fundraiser -  For Open House on May 12th. We will start this fundraiser online this year. One week open to bidding online. Do baskets by homeroom. They will be displayed at Open House and bidding will close that evening. We will need to create a committee to manage this event.
 
Sponsorships:
Denise has started making calls. Eblast was sent out. We have a spreadsheet with ideas for companies to approach. The deadline for this year is the end of February in order to get names in the yearbook and banners ordered.
 
Treasurer’s Report:
Link to report. Motion was made to give $500 for Million Word sweatshirts, passed. 
 
 
Spirit Wear: 
Eblast to go out this week. Selling spirit wear online, accepts credit cards (buyer pays fees). Will have a Coffee Cart next Friday, February 18th.
