PTO began the school year with new members to our team.  Joining us as Secretary are Summer Woods and Walma Crittenden as Treasurer. We welcomed new and returning parents with a coffee social on the first day of school and was well received.  Great to see new faces and hear fresh ideas.

PTO recently supported teachers during conference week by providing brunch items during this busy week and was greatly appreciated by staff.  Thanks to those who brought their special dish.

Following Conference Week was Red Ribbon Week focusing on saying No to drugs and alcohol.  ACMS students decorated the school and was entered into the National Red Ribbon Week Photo Contest. There were two divisions; school and home entries. One of our students, Deanna Sunnergren decorated her home in an effort to double our chances. The school and the home who received the most votes each will win $1000 for their school. News of the winners are much anticipated and will soon be announced.

Sixth graders attended Shady Creek, a science based four day field trip the last week of October while the 7th graders attended a ropes course at Granlibakken learning team building skills and brain science activities. Both trips were sponsored and made possible by PTO. On November 7th  parents came out in full force to help ASB’s Sports-a-Thon fundraiser.  It was a warm, beautiful November day and the event was held outdoors.  Students were able to try a variety of several sports of interest including volleyball, basketball, soccer, zumba, golf, yoga, baseball, disc golf, lacrosse and more.

The Box Top contest which is one of the fundraisers for PTO was held during the month of October. Winners for this year’s contest were DeCoite, Baber and McMullen homeroom. Thanks for saving all your Box Tops!

In addition to it’s fundraising efforts, PTO now has team, gear and spirit wear available online through the ACMS and PTO website. Each student will be receiving a $10 gift card which can be used to purchase merchandise. Support ACMS and your PTO and be the first to get your spirit wear. Makes for great gifts too!

Thanks to all who volunteer their time with PTO. Your help is greatly appreciated not just from PTO, but from your child as well. We are always looking for more members so please join our ACMS PTO.

Wishing you Happy Holidays!
